We just finished learning about turn-of-the-century economics in my American History class. I leant my teacher "Newsies" and he said we could watch the trolley strike and the gag where they get beat up by the scabs scene! ^^ ...Only problem? Now we're learning about WWI and my teacher hasn't spoken a word about "Newsies". I don't wanna be pushy, but I need my DVD. XD I haven't ased him about it yet. o.o I think he forgot. X3 Anyway!! Have you guys ever convinced your teachers into letting the class watch "Newsies"? Share!

I have not.But I am a movie buff and have a huge collection, so my teachers used to always come to me for a movie(before I left to become homeschooled). I used to never want my class to watch my favorite movies though, because I would want to talk through the whole thing and tell them all the trivia stuff. I always felt like I'm sharing something really personal with my class.I guess I'm just selfish.

I haven't tried to convince my teacher cause right now we're learning about South Asia, lol. I don't think they had newsies in the 1800's in India. Why is everyone here but me home schooled or WAS home schooled?!

Homeschoolers will rule the world! XD But I'm not sure... Maybe you could become homeschooled and join forces with us. =3

Hey! I've never been homeschooled! The closest thing to is learning how to read, but that was before I was even old enough to go to preschool, and I have the suspicion my parents taught me early just because they were tired of my bouncing around the house.

I've never been homeschooled either.
I tried to convince my chorus teacher to let us watch Newsies... I think we watched the beginning of it but never had time to finish.

I told my choir teacher about Newsies before going to university, and she wrote it on a piece of paper. I don't know if she'd show the class though - I doubt it. But spreading the love is ALWAYS GOOD!

Oui! Next year i gotta write a paper on it or watch it in class or SOMETHING. The 6th graders on a certain team (my school divides students into "teams" idk why) watch Newsies every year for some unit they study. Im determined to run into the library while there watching and start screaming either: "NEWSIES RULE!", "SPECS IS HAWT!" ,or start signing reeeeeally loudly to whatever song is playing. . . or dancing. . . either one works. ^_^
