Okay so I was watchin SNL last Saturday and they had this skit where two brothers were pitching a movie to Disney producers, only the brothers had two totally different ideas of the movie, one was a family movie and the other was like this gay guy who was making his dream movie and he was describing it and he was listing aspects and one was 'Newsies fantasies' I freaked, even though it was a little dirty...
And My friend broke his leg, so naturally I called him Crutchy, he's like, "Oh yeah from, what's it called (he's seen Newsies when we watched it in fifth grade, but he doessn't know about my doing all of well this...) then he got one crutch and hopped around yelling "papes!" I was cracking up so hard, but I don't think he got how funny I found it XD

As if we didn't have enough slashy Newsies fanfic! xDDD But to make it public would be. Ahh. Interesting! I actually don't care whatever fanfic writers make characters do, because they're the writers after all. If I don't like it, I don't have to read it xPP I completely understand the entire "Javid" thing though.....

I don't like slash, but I still watched the clip at least ten times to make sure it was real XD. And I just remembered that another time on SNL when Jennifer Aniston was on it, there were these two british urchins who wore hat hats (Newsie hats) and sang... It was freakily similar to you-know-what...

I have a good spasm. First of all, my dad hates rats. Despises them. And they keep showing up around our backyard and garage. So yesterday we're coming home and apparently, the big rat ran across our garage door and my dad was like 'SCABBERS!' Since I didn't see the rat, I thought he was talking newsies and I freaked out and had a newsies spasm at the same time. Then when he explained it was the rat, I realized he was talking about Harry Potter. You know, rat/Scabbers/Peter Pettigrew...

ok 2 things. #1. Race thats really funny! And what makes it all the better was me and 2 of my other friends where Newsies for Halloween this year and guess who I was! #du. Were reading Tom Sawyer in English class at my school this year and it's based/written in the late 1800's so every time I read it I always think "where are da' Newsies?!?!? I WANT NEWSIES!!!!!". lol, it's great! But it's also pure torture!

OH! And I just thought of another spasm of mine! Last night my friend was spending the night and we wanted to go make some popcorn but when I pulled out the box it had Batman on it and we started screaming really lound and jumping up and down! Then we started shouting: IT'S CRISTIAN BALE POPCORN!!!!!!! But then once we took it out of the microwave it got burnt and we started complaining about how Cristian Bale ruined our popcorn, but we ate it anyway.

Newsie spasm of the day: I saw this movie that was called 'Bela Lagosi sees a Brooklyn Gorilla' Yeah...weird looking movie, but it had brooklyn in it!

Hehe, I'm downloading Doogie Howser right now! I have enough so that I watched the pilot already. 76.3% done, whoohoo!
Not really a spasm, per se, but I had a concert in which my a cappella group was performing in on Saturday night, and today was Urinetown rehearsal of course. And here are some Newsie-related things that happened.
Saturday: We had soundcheck at 5, were done by like, 5.30, and since the show begins at 7 there was plenty of time to lounge around chatting. A bunch of us were talking about online stalking, and I was going to segue into our excellent stalking Trey Parker/Mark David/Kevin Stea/other Facebook newsie skills, so I started to describe Newsies: Me: Well, a bunch of my friends and I really like this Disney live action musical from the early 90s that flopped really bad... Jenny: ...Wait a sec... Me: It's got Christian Bale in it, and... Jenny: Newsies! Me: Yeah, oh my god, I love Newsies! Jenny: I actually own the DVD! And then we talked about its cuteness and Christian's amazing accent skills for a while. One other funny point of the conversation was this: Caitlin: Wait, what are we talking about? All I heard was "adolescent boys singing and dancing".... Me: Newsies, it's this Disney musical, basically it's 60 super cute guys. Mahi: I've got to check this out! Me: 17 year old singing and dancing Christian Bale...what more would you want? (Dominic Lucero, Michael Goorjian, Ivan Dudynsky and all the other hotties, of course xDD)
Sunday: I'm going to keep this a lot shorter now. It was break and we were all just sitting around talking about anything under the sky, from video games to doritos and of course, musicals, because we all belong to a musical theatre club. And I just asked, "Actually, I love this Disney movie-musical called Newsies, and I know it's not really the best thing ever, but..." Neil, our director: (yelling at the top of his lungs - I jumped becuase he was DIRECTLY behind me) NEWSIES IS AWESOME! Me: I love Newsies!! Neil: *sings* Open the gates and seize the day!
Seriously people, watching a 6'3, 28 year old man singing Seize the Day in a high voice as he scampers away will be one of the BEST THINGS YOU WILL EVER SEE IN YOUR LIFE.

XD Omg, that's hilareous. If I saw MY director doing that...
He's in his 60's and spoke French as a first language. Not a big accent but you can tell he's not from the US. That'd be funny.
Well, he's not my director anymore. I still call him that cuz he did 4 of my shows...my uncle's director now. Not a big deal cuz he already said he likes Newsies. And he;s done more ridiculous stuff. So ridiculous, we'd both prolly be cuffed if I typed it here.

Awesome! My very first ever musical director is French too, although he's not conservative, he's definitely not ridiculous. He's actually very strict but in a fun way C: I know he likes Newsies too, because once he had a guy in my class use "Santa Fe" as his solo song.
However, he doesn't like HSM. I distinctly recall one time we were looking for a solo song for me, and he was persuin' the CD shelf. He pulled out HSM and asked me, "Have you watched this?" I replied, "Uhhh, well, my friend has it..." but he interrupted with, "It was so bad, I couldn't finish it" and stuck it back on the shelf. xDDD
